01 Homes: MUJI launches it's own line of pre-fab homes. These are more micro homes. Neat.

02 Backpacks: This looks like a nice daily cary backpack by Incase.

03 Design: I saw a link to these VIPP salt and pepper shakers and went down the deep dark rabbit hole of design. These products are incredible looking, and priced that way. To bad their web site loads so slowly.

04 Furniture: If you have a kid that loves Legos or trains, Nilo makes incredible tables. We purchased the N34 (small) table for Sarah when she was 2 and then got her another one when she was 7. This gives her a lot of room to play with her Lego sets. Miles is interested in one and we're thinking of getting him the large one.

05 Tech: For the past few years, Steven Sinofsky has written the best CES Trip reports. Added to Pocket to read when I have the time to dedicate to this :-).

06 Tech: I learned of this product while listening to the Accidental Tech Podcast. It's a sweet USB-C hub for the MacBook.

07 AmazonAlexa is about to get a little sister. I am sure Sarah is going to want one in her room. And of course that means Miles will too.

08 Apple: Looks like iOS 9.3 is going to be a big release. The support for multiple users in Schools is key. But the Night Shift mode is a great idea. Kindle has this.

01 Geography: This map of the United States looks pretty cool. Took 2 years to make.

02 Declutter: I recently had some old newsletters and magazines scanned by Blue Leaf Book scanning. They did such an amazing job, I'm now planning to send them all my high school and college yearbooks to scan so I can throw them away. They scan all sorts of stuff and send you PDFs.

03 iPhoneYour next iPhone won't have a headphone port and I say good riddance. I love that Apple is constantly challenging the status quo, including everything they didn't invent. The 3.5mm headphone port has served its purpose and it's time to move on.

04 Home Automation: A HomeKit enabled Safe? Color me interested.

05 iPhone: The #1 camera in the world is the iPhone. It's no wonder that companies are falling over themselves to make lenses and camera accessories for the iPhone.

06 Home Automation: The Insteon integration with Sonos looks really cool. Unfortunately I don't use Insteaon and never will. I hope Sonos integrates with other products like Wink and Amazon Echo.

07 Apple Watch: Looks like Apple is going to be making more black Apple Watch bands.

08 Home Automation: Kwikset announced it's second generation smart lock. This one looks promising. The first generation lock was junk.

09 Guns: Given the number of guns owned by Americans, I expect products like this biometric gun safety are going to be a lot more common place.

10 iPad: Finally, a pencil holder for the iPad Pro.

The Real World

11 Star Wars: Enjoy this hilarious back and forth on Twitter between @Emo Kylo Ren and @Very Lonely Luke

01 Restaurants: This weekend Lora and I dined at Bateau, a new twist on a Steakhouse in Seattle. It was wonderful.

02 Cooking: Cook’s Illustrated rated California Olive Ranch Everyday Extra Virgin Olive Oil the best. Up till now we have been using their second pick, Luccini Premium Select Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is sold by AmazonFresh and Whole Foods.

03 Cooking: How do you know a baked potato is done? Use a thermometer to check the core. Should be 205 degrees. Cook at 450 degrees for 45 to 60 min. Oil skin a few min before done. Hopefully you have picked up one of these Thermapens.

04 Productivity: I fulfilled my threat to dump Evernote this year. I used the Evernote2OneNote tool to migrate all notes. Was easy. And just like that life is simpler. And there is a new vacancy slot on my iPhone screen.

05 Tesla: Today my Tesla was serviced for the first time. They needed to replace my driver's seat since it developed a ticking sound while driving due to a defect in the seat rivets. When the car was done they drove it to my Office. That is a first for me.

06 Books: Marie Kondo, who wrote the life changing book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, just published Spark Joy.I got my copy today.

01 Tools: My stud finder recently broke, and I ordered the ProSensor 710 based on a recommendation from The Sweet Home

02 Tools: Ever since starting with “Getting Things Done” I’ve always had a label maker. They keep getting better and cheaper. This past weekend I thought my 3rd grader how to create labels for her new filing cabinet so she can organize her “stuff”. She has files now for 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, drawing, writing, autographs. It’s cute - DYMO LabelManager 280

03 Kitchen: I’ve been searching for the perfect Kitchen Towels of late. We go through a lot of towels through the week and I like to keep a half dozen to a dozen on hand. I love Microfiber and after the white ones we used for a few months got stained I’m switching to these - Sinland Microfiber Waffle Weave Kitchen Towels
