For many years I have relied on OluKai Sandals and Beach Shoes. They are simply fantastic. I have spread that love to everyone in my family. OluKai is a California (often confused as a Hawaiian) based clothing company but they are known for their sandals.

These are mine, the OluKai Maka.

I have them in Java Brown. They are leather and they run about a size small (I am a US 12 and wear a US 13 in these.

I have owned synthetic and leather sandals. I personally prefer the leather. Living in Seattle I don't wear sandals all year round and I prefer how the leather feels when beach going or wearing around town.

My wife has a few pairs (black and white pairs) of the ladies Kulapa Kai synthetic and they come in many colors

She says they run true to size.

These are really high quality beach and pool shoes and the kids certainly live in them over the summer.
