I love wool. In the last few years I have incorporated more and more wool into our lives. Items such as our Wool Comforter. I now own a number of wool sweaters, and recently some new wool socks from Darn Tough (I like the standard issue mid calf light). This past winter I also upgraded all my old Patagonia Capeline long underwear to Arc'teryx and Ice Breaker Merino Wool. It feels so good!

Good wool is amazing. Not the stuff I remember hating as a kid (scratchy hats and scarfs)

Recently at work I noticed a number of folks have been rocking the new Allbirds wool sneakers. I used to see tons of their ads in my Facebook feed, but never wanted to bother trying them out. Well based on some personal recommendations I decided to take the plunge. It could not be easier to buy them since the Allbirds website uses Apple Pay, making purchase almost too easy.

Allbirds are sneakers made of merino wool! If you have ever word Nike Free Run shoes, they are very similar in concept. I ordered the Black on Black sneakers. They are very true to size, I'm a 45/12 and got a 12. It took about a week to receive them and I've worn them a few times now.

Most recently I took them to NYC where it was < 30 degrees. I wore the Darn Tough socks and Allbirds and my feat felt like they were being massaged all day.

Unlike the Nike, these have a sock like feeling.

They also weigh nothing making them a no brainer for travel. Just stuff them in your bag. The won't get messed up. Also you can take them on and off without unlacing them as they are a bit stretchy.

I have also worn them without socks around the house and they are very comfortable. Much like the Haflinger AS Classic Slipper that I also love.

I can't wait to try them out in a warm climate and see how they do.
